Tiny Tim's is staying on the Square πŸ•

Okay I'm a month late on this but I missed it when it came out and just saw it again last night. Tiny Tim's is staying put on the Square after that eviction scare. Here's the Flyer story if you missed it too.

Honestly such a relief. I'm out on Wedington now but we still drive in for pizza when the kids want something that isn't chain stuff, and I remember those old booths from back when I was a student. Not fancy, never was, but it felt like Fayetteville. Whole town would be a little less itself without it.

I know not everybody loves the place and that's fine, people can argue about the crust all day πŸ˜… but it's still one of the few spots left on the Square that's been there forever.

Makes me wonder about the other Square businesses though. Anyone hearing anything about rents going up or places on shaky ground? Would hate to find out about the next one only after it's already a "scare."

Also what's everyone's go-to order? Trying to decide if we do Friday night after the game or Saturday after a lake walk this weekend.

Saturday after a lake walk wins, no contest πŸ™ŒπŸ₯Ύ Lake Fayetteville loop then pizza on the Square is about as Fayetteville a day as you can get. Friday night after a game it's gonna be packed anyway.

I'm over in Washington-Willow so it's an easy walk for us and we end up there more than I'd admit πŸ˜‚πŸ• Honestly I'm more of a "pile on the toppings and don't overthink it" guy. Supreme-ish, extra crispy if they'll do it. Can't say I'm a crust snob, I spend most weekends doing brisket so my pizza standards are pretty low-key πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ”₯

Haven't heard anything specific about other Square spots, but I'd agree it's worth keeping an eye on. Easiest thing we can do is actually eat down there and not just show up for the farmers market πŸ₯•πŸŒ½ Little places stick around when people keep walking in the door.

Let us know what you end up ordering! πŸ˜„

Ha okay you've convinced me, Saturday it is πŸ˜„ Friday after the game is a zombie crowd and my kids will be hangry by the second quarter anyway.

We'll probably do the Lake Fayetteville loop first, since it's supposed to be nice and cool, then head in. Extra crispy sounds good, I might steal that. Kids want plain pepperoni, I'll do something with way too many veggies... πŸ•

And yes to actually eating down there, not just the farmers market haul and then home. Feels like the least we can do if we want these places around.

Extra crispy supreme from a guy who smokes brisket every weekend... I'll allow it, but only because you admitted the standards are low-key.

Fully agree on eating down there though. Everybody gets misty about the Square when a place almost vanishes, then goes right back to ordering from the app the next week... Walking in the door is the only vote that counts.

The lake loop first is the right call too. We do it with our rescue, a beagle mix who thinks every Saturday is a personal invitation to sniff every inch of Lake Fayetteville. By the time we finish he's too worn out to care that we're sitting anywhere near pizza... mostly. If the weather holds, grab a table outside and bring a dog, because a tired dog under the table is the best part of any Square meal. Just ask first what the rules are on the patio, I wouldn't assume.

As for the other businesses, I wouldn't wait on rumors. Go in, spend money, tip the staff... that's the whole strategy.
