Not sure why I'm surprised, but the Lake Sequoyah Drive bridge is still closed. Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, so we're barely past the halfway mark. The city keeps a running list of closures here: road and lane closures. It's worth bookmarking, because the list is longer than you'd think.
My sister lives out that way and I'm over there a couple times a week. I live in Walker Park, and the detour has turned a quick drive into a whole errand. For those of you who actually live past the bridge, how much time is it adding for you? And what's the least bad back route at school pickup? I tried one last week and sat behind a line of SUVs for 15 minutes. Never again.
Also, if anyone knows whether work is actually happening on it or if it's just sitting there, please tell me. I pay enough in property taxes to at least expect a crew.
