Halloween on Dickson Street in the rain...

Anybody else get soaked Saturday night? Between the rain and homecoming week being a wash all week I feel like I haven't been dry since Monday...

I saw a post from a mom in one of the Fayetteville groups that made me smile. She was telling the college kids headed down to Dickson in their costumes where to go and stand under cover until the rain let up, and she named Yancey's Dickson Street Dogs as one of the spots. Warm, dry, and hot dogs. Hard to argue with that... I also heard one of the venues did a dance night, so I hope some of those kids got to dance instead of just standing around dripping.

Trick-or-treating on our street was basically nothing. Maybe six kids total, and every one of them wearing a rain poncho over the costume so I couldn't tell what they were supposed to be. I ended up with a whole bowl of candy left, which is dangerous for me...

So who went out? Best costume you saw? And did everybody get a ride home okay? I'd much rather hear about a bunch of soggy Spider-Mans in an Uber than anything worse.

Live a couple blocks off Dickson and it was ponchos over costumes everywhere. Best one I saw was a banana with a trash bag on top, committed to the bit. Everybody was crowded under the awnings by the end of the night, and the Ubers were slammed so I'm guessing lots of people just walked home soaked.

Banana in a trash bag is commitment. I kept the truck in the garage, no way I'm taking a classic down Dickson in that mess.

Smart call on the truck Travis. Wet leaves up on Mt Sequoyah were sketchy enough in a regular car. Only had a handful of kids come by, all in ponchos like Denise said.
