Festival of Trees at Mount Sequoyah with two kids, worth it?

Hello, neighbors. We have been meaning to go up to the Festival of Trees at Mount Sequoyah this year, and I would love to hear from anyone who has taken children. We have two, and neither does well with a long wait or a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd.

Is it a big crowd, or more of a quiet outing you can do in an hour or so? I would also appreciate any advice on parking up on the mountain. I know those roads get tight, and I would rather not circle around the way we do on a home game Saturday.

I am also unclear on what is free and what requires a ticket. Is walking through the trees open to everyone, or does it all go through admission? And has anyone been to the jazz brunch? I am curious whether it is something a family can enjoy or whether it suits adults better.

Thank you in advance. If this has been covered in an older thread, feel free to point me to it.

Went a couple years back with a niece and a nephew. It wasn't home-game-Saturday bad, but the road up is narrow and curvy and people park wherever they can wedge a car, so go early and expect a bit of a walk. Skip anything close to dusk too. November on that mountain means deer on the road, and I've seen enough of them in the headlights to say that.

I honestly can't tell you what's free versus ticketed. I remember some of it being open to wander and some of it not, but I wouldn't swear to it. Call the Mount Sequoyah folks before you load up two kids for a maybe.

Never did the jazz brunch. Sounds like an adults-with-coffee thing to me.
